Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using the Kora platform.

Effective Date: April 2026

Welcome to Kora Kourier. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kora Kourier mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"), operated by KoraKourier Logistics Ltd ("we," "us," "our," or "Kora"). By creating an account or using the Platform in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, are capable of entering into a legally binding agreement, and agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable Nigerian laws and regulations. These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including customers and delivery riders.

2. Service Description

Kora is an on-demand delivery platform operating within Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The Platform connects customers who wish to send packages with independent delivery riders who fulfil those deliveries.

Kora acts as a technology intermediary only. We are not a logistics company or carrier. The contractual relationship for the physical delivery of any package is between the customer and the rider. Kora is not a party to that arrangement and accepts no liability as a carrier.

3. Account Registration

To use the Platform you must register an account. By doing so you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep it up to date.
  • Maintain only one account per individual. Duplicate accounts may be suspended.
  • Keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notify us immediately at hello@korakourier.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

4. User Obligations

As a customer using the Platform, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate pickup and delivery addresses and ensure someone is available at both locations where required.
  • Accurately describe the contents of any package. You must not misrepresent what is being sent.
  • Not use the Platform to send any prohibited items (see Section 10).
  • Treat delivery riders with respect. Harassment, abuse, or threatening behaviour will result in immediate account suspension.
  • Not engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful activity through the Platform.

5. Rider Obligations

Delivery riders on the Platform must at all times:

  • Be approved and verified by Kora before accepting any delivery.
  • Operate a roadworthy, lawfully registered vehicle and hold all required licences and insurance.
  • Handle all packages with reasonable care and deliver them promptly to the correct address.
  • Conduct themselves professionally when interacting with customers.
  • Not delegate or subcontract a delivery to a third party without Kora's prior consent.
  • Comply with all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations while on delivery.

6. Order Placement & Pricing

Delivery fees on the Platform are calculated based on the distance between the pickup and dropoff locations. The applicable fare will be displayed to you before you confirm your order. By confirming, you agree to pay the stated amount.

Kora reserves the right to revise its pricing structure at any time. Changes will be reflected in the fare shown at the time of booking and will not affect orders already confirmed.

7. Cancellation Policy

Orders may be cancelled subject to the current status of the delivery. No cancellation fee applies at this time; however, Kora reserves the right to introduce cancellation fees in the future where a rider has already been dispatched. Any such fee will be clearly communicated within the Platform before it takes effect, and any refund due will reflect the delivery fee less the applicable fee.

8. Payment Terms

All transactions on the Platform are denominated in Nigerian Naira (NGN). We currently accept the following payment methods:

  • Kora Wallet: A digital balance held within your account that can be topped up and used for payments.
  • Paystack: Secure card payments processed via Paystack, a regulated payment gateway.

Wallet top-ups are non-refundable except where required by applicable Nigerian consumer protection law. By making a payment, you confirm that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method.

9. Refund Policy

If an order is cancelled for any reason, the delivery fee is automatically and instantly refunded to your Kora Wallet, less any applicable cancellation fee. Kora does not process refunds to bank accounts or cards. If you believe a refund was not correctly applied, contact our support team at hello@korakourier.com.

10. Prohibited Items

The following items must not be sent through the Platform under any circumstances:

  • Weapons, firearms, or ammunition
  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances
  • Live animals
  • Human remains or body parts
  • Currency, negotiable instruments, or bearer bonds
  • Counterfeit or pirated goods
  • Hazardous, flammable, or explosive materials
  • Any item prohibited by Nigerian law

Sending any prohibited item will result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination. Kora reserves the right to report such activity to relevant law enforcement authorities.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Kora is a technology intermediary and is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to packages during delivery.
  • Kora does not guarantee specific delivery times. Estimates are indicative only.
  • Kora is not liable for the conduct of independent riders beyond facilitating access to our dispute resolution process.
  • Kora is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Platform.
  • Kora's total liability to you in connection with any single incident shall not exceed the value of the delivery fee paid for that order.
  • Kora shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to natural disasters, civil unrest, or network failures.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.

13. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

If you have a dispute with Kora or another user of the Platform, please contact our support team first at hello@korakourier.com. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter promptly.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rivers State, Nigeria. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

14. Termination

Kora reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time and without prior notice if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the Platform in a manner that causes harm to other users or to Kora.

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting our support team. Deletion of your account does not affect any outstanding orders, obligations, or liabilities incurred prior to termination. Any remaining Kora Wallet balance should be used before deleting your account, as it will not be accessible afterwards. For accounts that are suspended or blocked, wallet balance is handled on a case-by-case basis by our support team.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. Where changes are material, we will notify you via the app or by email.
